Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe that 2013 has come and gone. I have some great memories associated with the past year. Our road trip to Illinois, celebrating Bug turning one, running my first 10K, and many, many more!
It was this time last year that I introduced my 30 During Thirty list. I still have six and a half weeks to cross off a few more items, but in sticking with tradition, I thought now was a good time to announce that I will be continuing the challenge with a 31 During Thirty-One list. More information on both lists will be coming in February, but today I am sharing the first item on my new list thanks to the encouragement of one of my favorite bloggers, Jessica at Little Baby Garvin.
She, along with In Honor of Design, Kelli Murray, Oh Dear Drea, Small Fry Blog, Summer Saldana, & The Wiegands, posed the following three questions to their readers and invited us share our answers to one (or all) of the prompts.
1. What is something you want to change, or a goal you want to set for the New Year & what is your plan for making it happen?
2. Many people choose a word to reflect on, live by or aspire to for the New Year. Let us know your word, how you decided upon it & how you plan to incorporate it into 2014.
3. I will make 2014 count by…
I decided to focus on the first question, so here it goes.
My goal for the New Year is to continue running. I really got back into it last year but I have a habit of losing momentum. I stay motivated by having races lined up, so this morning I registered for a half marathon.
Running a half marathon is something I have wanted to do for a long time and I decided that this was the year to make it happen. I have had success following Hal Higdon’s training programs in the past, so I plan to use his Half Marathon Novice 2 Program starting at the end of February.
Now it’s your turn! How would you answer those questions? Did anyone else set a running related goal for the coming year? I will be linking this post to the above mentioned blogs on Friday, so be sure to check out their sites for even more inspiration.
Cheers to a fabulous 2014!
